Program Structure

Basic Requirements and Certification Levels

9 levels of certification are offered by this CVTA program, which includes 5 levels of instructor certification and 4 professional levels of safety. Eligibility requirements such as driving experience, licensing or eduction is not mandatory to complete the training modules and reach the certification levels. However, instructors have to clear certification exams and satisfy teaching experience conditions. Instructors don't require certification to work as the truck driving instructors. Many training schools hire instructors with a valid CDL and 2 to 3 years of experience of doing HR driver jobs. Level Specifications

For instructor certification level 1, instructors have to clear any 3 regular certification tests and acquire teaching experience of 450 hours at some driving school. For every level till level 4, instructors have to pass 6 more exams and acquire additional teaching experience of 900 hours. The advanced master instructor level needs an additional 450 hours including a passing average in 3 exams after the level 4 requirements.
